As their name might suggest, alternative/indie-rock band Aficionado know a thing or two about making music, but even further their expertise lies in keeping fans on their toes.

Since their inception in 2004, the Albany based band has gone through many changes with their music evolving at each step of the way. What started off as a straightforward post-hardcore band in the early years wound up as an eleven piece theatrical prog-rock spectacle before finally stripping things down again to a comfortable seven members, which include Nick Warchol (vocals), James Kehoe (guitar), Chris Tenerowicz (guitar/horns), Chris Kehoe (bass), Craig Dutra (keys), Laura Carrozza (flute/vocals) and Mark O’Brien (drums).

After years of DIY touring, Aficionado signed to No Sleep Records in 2009, which resulted in their first EP, When It Comes to Creation.” Following the release the band quickly gained traction and began touring on a fairly consistent basis.

In 2011, the band released their eponymous debut full length, Aficionado, which received critical praise and found them touring in support of acts like Tim Kasher (Cursive), TS & The Past Haunts, Thursday, MewithoutYou, Electric Six and Fair to Midland, to name a few.

In 2012, Aficionado released the "Empty" 7" on No Sleep Records.
Shortly after, the band called it quits and remained inactive for a little over 4 years.

In June of 2016, the band reunited and is currently in the process of recording a 2nd LP, which should be released sometime in 2017 via No Sleep Records. This upcoming March, Aficionado will be touring for the first time in almost 5 years.
